Stroll in the wonderful old harbor that has kept the atmosphere of the past, through the small treets of Hoi An, listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage site, famous for its beauty and architectural diversity, a unique feature in Vietnam: Old wooden houses, Chinese style shops, Pagodas, Chinese and Vietnamese temples, the famous Japanese bridge. Visit My Son - Southwest of Da Nang, this valley was chosen as a religious sanctuary by Bhadravarnan, from the 4th century onwards, many temples and towers were built. Day 5 SON LA – DIEN BIEN PHU

Visit the local market before continuing to Dien Bien Phu. This is the most beautiful part of the journey. Passing Phadin Pass (32 km), the scenery becomes ever more dramatic, with beautiful waterfalls, forested slopes and endless fields of rice cultivated by hill-tribe people. O/ N in Dien Bien Phu.

Day 6 DIEN BIEN PHU – LAI CHAU

Next reach Dong Ha enter the quadrilateral area bordered by Con Tien, Gio Linh, Dong Ha, and Cam Lo which was nicknamed Leatherneck Square during Operation Buffalo. Continue up Highway No 1 across the Hien Luong Bridge over the Ben Hai River which once demarcated North and South Vietnam. Visit the tunnels in Vinh Moc and the Con Thien Fire Support Base before overnight at Dong Ha.

Day 5 DONG HA – KHE SANH – A LUOI – DONG HA

Tour to Khe Sanh Base, visit a coffee plantation, an old French fort and the Montagnard Village. Continue on Route No 9 to Lang Vei special Forces Camp. Visit the Lao Bao Border town where illicit border trade remains very active. With advanced notice, a border crossing to Laos is possible to follow Operation Lam Son 719, where South Vietnamese soldiers surged in to attack the Liberation Front soldiers' strongholds in the neighboring country.
